Outsiders 1 Week 1 Response 1 In a well written paragraph, tell me which character from the Outsiders you would like to be your friend. Use the BOOK with page numbers and paragraph numbers.
The character in the book I would most like to be friends with would be Sodapop. Soda tries to understand you. He is very kind to other people. He doesn't yell, and he helps you if you need help. I found that on page 2 paragraph 2. He seems to have a good time. He also is a good kid. I found that out on page 8 paragraph 1. ~ I think he would make a fun friend, but would he make a good friend? November 12, 2009 Response 2 We all know that the fifth commandment is: Thou shall not kill. With that in mind, tell me what you would be feeling AND what you would do now if you were Johnny at the end of Chapter 4.
If I had killed someone I would be sad even if it was for self-defense. My heart would be filled with so much guilt I would be scared because I wouldn't know what to do. I would feel awfully sorry for that person and their family. I would probably run away so I could have some time alone. When I was running I would ask God for forgiveness. Then I would turn myself in to the cops. ~ I think that is a good choice. I don't think running would have helped at all. ~Mrs. Best
Week 2
B. Explain what Ponyboy finds out about Randy and the other Socs at the end of Chapter 7.
Ponyboy finds out that Randy and the other Socs are just guys. He realized that Socs and greasers are really the same. He finds out that the fighting won't help, and that Randy doesn't want to fight. Only money separates them from being friends. They both know that they can't change it. Nothing will change if either win the rumble. Everybody will still be a greaser or Soc.

Week 2 Response 2 B. Explain what Two-Bit means when he says: "The only thing that keeps Darry from being a Soc is us."
Two-Bit means when he says Darry would be a Soc if he didn't have the gang is that he is like a Soc. He is very smart like a lot of the Socs. He was very popular in his High School. The Socs are usaully the popular kids in the High School. Darry is really athletic like most of the Socs are. Since Darry belongs to the gang he isn't a Soc. He would never betray his own gang and his own brothers especially.
~That is what Two-Bit meant. He shared many of the values and traits of Socs. He is smart, and believes in education. So do socs, they are just meaner. ~Mrs. Best
